Finding the perfect bathroom suite

Selecting the right bathroom suite for your family is not always easy and you need to consider a number of issues from the start.

How much room do you have and how much can you afford to spend? Would you like a contemporary design or a traditional one? Do you need or want a bath?

Many homes no longer have a traditional bath and it may be that you will be content with a shower. If you have children, however, or enjoy a long, hot relaxing soak it is likely you will want to find room for a bath as well as a shower, basin and toilet.

You might think your bathroom is too small for anything other than the smallest of baths but it is surprising how much room you can make if you move the basin and toilet to different spots.

Which basin?

Basins now come in a wonderful array of designs. You will find square and rectangular basins, small and shallow ones and large, deep basins. Some come with a traditional pedestal but the most chic on the market today are wall-hung or counter top basins. It makes sense to use the area under your basin for a cabinet if your bathroom is short on storage space and counter top basins can look very good, especially if fitted with a designer mixer tap. Wall-hung basins are sometimes made with built-in towel rails, which saves space and can neatly hold a hand towel.

Don’t forget the taps

By changing the taps on your bath and basin you can make the whole bathroom feel updated. If you change your basin for one of the latest contemporary designs you will choose a new tap. Match up your bath taps with your new tap and it will bring the whole bathroom together.
